The sea is my Church
the sea is my church
Her tides my liturgy
waves carry my private prayers
and wash away my guilt and sin.
the shoreline is my altar
my offerings are seaweed rich
my holy relics pebbles and shells,
precious objects to be worshipped and revered.
underwater I am in rapture,
blissful, beautiful, held.
floating I am in sacred space
when my salt tears flow into her deep
I honour my deity.
abundant Mother, ocean I am blessed.

'Where will we go my darling beloved when the house burns down and the sky falls in.....'
This piece came to me in a dream, a woman-bird with a plume of feathers and a glorious black beak.
She carried hoops and crystals and keys and the souls of my ancestors.
She asked me that question, I don't think she expected me to know the answer.

The way the truth the light the dark the longing and the sadness
they came along the path that night I never invited them in
content I was floating free in present moment bliss
no contemplating future regretting past or missing now the grief is in me like a bag of stones in my stomach
a bag of sharp, rattling stones that may finally drag me down into the ocean deep
let me drown instead in your love my darling take me into your calm,
your joy.
take all of me leave nothing behind on the path for the carrion and fox to pick over these bones
and I will sing you my song.
I will rub good oil into your feet and dance on your lap long and slow until we are one without seams

I long for crows and ravens they inhabit my dreams
speak to me of ancient things.
disruptors.
They are loud and unapologetic.
0h to be crow to be crow - woman.
I am not pretty.
I am fierce and clever.
I inhabit the high tree tops.
I squawk and scream,
I screech and bitch at the top of my lungs.
I am black, night black, deep dark black.
I strut and wink and stare.
I give you no room to be quiet.
Listen to me
I know all that is and ever was.
Feel the breath of life itself from the wind beneath my wings
as I sore above you.
Get out of my way,
or I will peck you,
I will steal out your eyes, take your hair and beat you with my wings if you cross me
But I will love you too if you let me
fascinate you with my cleverness and awe you with my wisdom
Look you into my eyes and see for yourself
the soul of the world.
